HOME—NO MATTER WHERE. . .

From the May 2007 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The old Testament story of Abraham begins with a journey. "Now the Lord had said unto Abraham, thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:... So Abram departed, as the Lord has spoken unto him;... and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran" (Gen. 12:1, 4).

What an inspiration for today's global travelers, for those expatriates who venture out of the safe-and-familiar environment of their homelands to settle in foreign lands. Abraham didn't fear the future. Didn't doubt that God would help him every step of the way. He knew that God would care for, provide for, watch over, and protect him and his family no matter where they landed.

In the following article, read how three families trusting in the same divine Providence that led Abraham and Sarah to their good destiny have found inspiration, spiritual growth, and expanding horizons as they've settled into new lives in their adopted countries. Each in their own way has discovered—as Abraham and Sarah proved—that no matter where we find ourselves, divine Love presides and will always "meet every human need."
