FROM THE TIME my first son was born, I had what is commonly called hay fever. For 22 years I suffered with this condition every late summer and fall. We visited my mother's home on a lake during the last two weeks of August every year. I couldn't enjoy the beach or swimming or any of the fun activities because of the hay fever. Then, one morning while I was sitting at a table overlooking the lake—reading the Christian Science Bible Lesson while everyone else was asleep—it suddenly occurred to me with great clarity that there is only one Mind, the divine Mind. With that one inspired insight, and in that moment, all symptoms of hay fever vanished, just like that. I was free. After that, I did everything—swimming, water skiing, and other activities—just like everyone else. In all the decades since, I have never suffered again with this condition.
