This healing is one that seemed long in coming, but quick in happening. In fact it had much to do with gaining a clearer, more palpable sense of what it means that time itself is not a factor in the reality of being, in spiritual reality. I found that this reality can be experienced right now in the form of healing.
In Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy wrote: “Truth has a healing effect, even when not fully understood” (p. 152). Although I do not claim to fully understand the concept of time’s powerlessness when it comes to healing, this experience certainly bolstered my understanding of God’s ever-presence.
A number of years ago, in the midst of planning for our family’s move from one part of the country to another, I noticed that there was an abnormal growth on my scalp. My prayer at that point was somewhat distracted because of the demands of the move. However, I’d had many healings in Christian Science, and this encouraged me to expect another such experience.
