This article was originally published as a Journal web article on November 22, 2013.

Dear Fellow Members and Friends,

As some of you may already have seen in an announcement on ChristianScience.com, Scott Preller, CSB, has stepped down as President of the Board of Education, the arm of the Church that supports Christian Science teaching, to accept his new responsibilities as a member of the Board of Trustees of The Christian Science Publishing Society. Scott is also currently serving as a member of the Christian Science Board of Directors. You can read the full announcement by clicking here.

We are very pleased to announce that Allison W. Phinney, Jr., CSB, in addition to his new role as a member of the Christian Science Board of Directors, has accepted the position of President of the Board of Education. Allison, or Skip, as he is known to his friends and colleagues, is no stranger to the Board of Education, having served it in various capacities over the years, including President in 1984 and 1985. We truly appreciate Skip’s willingness to continue to provide teachers and associations with the strong support and special care they received from Scott.
