Exploring in depth what Christian Science is and how it heals.

Empowered by the Holy Ghost

For years, the subject of the Holy Ghost was baffling to me. Yet there are many Biblical citations as well as references in Mary Baker Eddy's writings that refer to the Holy Ghost, which prompts me to ask: What part does it actually play in the demonstration of Christian Science healing? A passage in Science and Health sheds light: "Jesus demonstrated Christ; he proved that Christ is the divine idea of God—the Holy Ghost, or Comforter, revealing the divine Principle, Love, and leading into all truth" ( p.

The Comforter—Eternal and Unconfined

Jesus demonstrated Christ; he proved that Christ is the divine idea of God — the Holy Ghost, or comforter, revealing the divine Principle, Love, and leading into all truth. — MARY BAKER EDDY Sometimes it speaks to us in a whisper, not the roar we expect.

SOME THOUGHTS ON MENTORING

Over the last year, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston (The Mother Church) has been facilitating meetings in support of the public practice of Christian Science healing. These meetings are sponsored by branch churches for those nurturing a budding practice, for those already in the public practice, and for those supporting the healing practice with their love and prayers.

WHY CHURCH?

When my brother-in-law and his wife lived in Saudi Arabia a few years back, they wanted to attend a Protestant church there, the particular denomination not being of great importance. On March 3, 1903, Mary Baker Eddy wrote to the Christian Science Board of Directors, suggesting that it "would be a good thing" to have one of her hymns "read and sung about every Sunday" in The Mother Church. During Mrs.

TRUE NATURE

"GLIMPSES OF GRACE!" I love the title of this series in the Journal of photographs, paintings, and prose meditations. And a glimpse of grace is exactly what I experienced last spring when visiting the North Carolina property of Carl Sandburg, the American poet, writer, and historian who lived from 1878 to 1967.

FINDING GOOD IN EVERY MOMENT

EVERY DAY, IN LITTLE WAYS, I try to make the world a better place by loving others. Awhile back, as I was going about my normal day-to-day activities at work, I began feeling guilty that my life was as good as it was.
