The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Mass. , has established a Reading Room at 194 Boylston Street to which the public is cordially invited.
At the dedication of First Church of Christ, Scientist, of Fairmount, Minnesota, Phebe L. Haines, First Reader, spoke in part as follows:— Beloved Brethren and Friends: —Greetings of love and a glad welcome do we extend to all; for we know it was Love that drew you here from all parts of the Field, even that Love wherewith the Master hath loved us, and bade us to "love one another.
At the opening of church edifice of Second Church of Christ, Scientist, in Buffalo, N. Y.
A History of the Church at Neligh, Nebraska, read by the Second Reader was as follows:— Looking back to the first infantile steps of our church, we find that in the summer of 1887 was made the first demonstration of Christian Science in this vicinity that we are aware of, and although the healer was not widely known, staying but a short time, yet the fruit of that demonstration still lives in our midst. In the summer and autumn of 1888, another healer came to Neligh several cases of healing were reported and a few became interested.
A Church Home. At a largely attended special meeting of Brockton First Church of Christ, Scientist, held in Elks Hall last evening, it was voted to lease the hall which has been occupied by the Brockton Lodge of Elks for the past eight years, and also to purchase of the lodge the handsome fittings and furnishings which have made it the handsomest of the small halls in the city.
Church of Christ, Scientist. The above name has been given the new organization, and while not much stir has been made by these believers of Christian Science, yet they are doing much work in a quiet way.
Organization at Savannah, Ga. Our little band in this city is steadily increasing in numbers, and only a short time ago we organized a church with twenty-one charter members.
Reading Room at Fortuna. Eighteen months ago a committee of five was appointed to see what could be done about a reading room.
Sunday, January 29, 1899, marked a very important event in the history of a small but loyal band of Christian Scientists living near Sutherland, Florida. On that day they dedicated to the service of the ever-present God a little church which stands in the midst of a pine forest, and, as far as we can learn, it is the first Christian Science church dedication in the state.
