The Gratitude Club

Until recently our Christian Science branch church had a bunch of wonderful kids who preferred to play in childcare on Wednesday nights rather than attend the Wednesday evening testimony meetings. The “regulars” were four girls—Amelia, Danika, Ellen, and Michaela.

Hold their hand in church

How often have you wanted a relative or friend to embrace some of the healing truths that are so helpful to you because your wish is for them to share the great goodness that you know is available to all? Invitation to worship

Our community has an interfaith group called the Mercer Island Clergy Association, which meets every month. We sponsor the baccalaureate service in June for our local high school, and we also provide an interfaith Thanksgiving Service on the Wednesday night before Thanksgiving.

Church and generic man

Some time ago a friend of mine who has demonstrated Christian Science consistently—and in some instances dramatically—told me she didn’t need church. She had joined one or two branch churches at different times and places over the course of many years, but had decided it wasn’t her cup of tea.
