Clearing the mirror

- Practice, Practice, Practice

I love the spiritual lessons that can be learned from everyday experiences—from such simple things as a steamy bathroom mirror.

Every morning I start the day with a nice hot shower and shave. But after the shower, my bathroom mirror is always steamed up. It’s a challenge to see my reflection well enough to shave.

Often, I just grit my teeth and put up with the fuzzy image. Other times, I try wiping off the mirror with a towel, but this leaves streaks—and the mirror then has a tendency to fog up again. I’ve found that the best remedy is simply to open the bathroom door. The mirror clears in seconds, and then I can see clearly to shave.
