Floor design and...healing?

- Practice, Practice, Practice

When I first traveled to North America, I noticed a number of differences from Barbados, where I live. Aside from the expected contrasts—weather, scale of infrastructure, and general layout—I noticed that many of the homes had carpeting. It was a big contrast to the use of ceramic, marble, and granite floor tiles, which are commonplace in Barbados.

I understood why carpeting was used in North America, especially when you consider how cold it can get. But what does this have to do with healing?

Some months ago I visited a friend’s house in the United States and noticed that the ground floor was fully tiled. While I am sure I have seen this before, there was something that struck me about seeing this much tiling in a North American setting.
