“What is going on?” I said to myself. “Nothing makes sense! Why is the computer doing this?” I would command the computer program I was using to do as I asked, but it wouldn’t cooperate. It seemed to have a bug. In the past it had always done exactly what I wanted it to do, but now it wouldn’t obey.
I decided to stop and contemplate the “revolt” that my computer was expressing. After being quiet and praying for a bit, I remembered that this particular software had its own set of preferences built into its programming, put there by its creator (the team of programmers who developed the software). I then remembered that I could very simply “trash” the preferences folder and start over.
With renewed determination, I trashed the preferences folder, went through the simple steps necessary, and then the preferences folder was rebuilt with its original settings. Everything now worked perfectly. The problem was that there had been too many conflicting sets of preferences stored in that folder because the preferences had been changed too many times.
