For as far back as I can remember, I had been terrified of bees and hornets. And although many people are not fond of them, they may not find it necessary to run the other way if they spot one, as I did.
One day, over 20 years ago, my husband and I took our two young children to visit the summer home of a large American circus company, where, among other things, new acts are prepared in anticipation of upcoming touring. While making our way to the bleachers to sit and watch the circus parade, we passed to the side of an area where an elephant was being trained to put his foot gently on top of his trainer’s head. Upon the command to remove his foot, however, the elephant did not obey, keeping his foot where it was. A loud, fearful commotion by spectators followed.
To quiet my own concerns as well as those of the children, I turned them away and declared firmly that God’s creatures could not harm one another because they get all of their ideas straight from God, who was harmoniously governing the situation right then.
