Exploring in depth what Christian Science is and how it heals.

Not needed at that meeting?

Recently I felt there was no need for me to attend a scheduled business meeting at my branch Church of Christ, Scientist. It was a warm, humid day, and I felt I would be more comfortable at home.

Our source of strength and supply

When I was still working , past retirement age, as a real estate agent, I had an opportunity to represent a client in the purchase of a condominium. The condo had been rented for many years by a very large family, and the family evidently had not been very good housekeepers.

Healing: a revelation of the real

Healing in Christian Science is a revelation—an inspired revealing of the present status of God and God’s man. As a result of the application of Christian Science, thousands of people around the world can happily attest to the healing of disease and injury of all kinds.

Prayer: more than just words

Prayer is important to many people in the world. Christian Scientists especially treasure the spiritual transformation and healing that prayer brings.

Mary Baker Eddy writes of her early exposure to the Congregational Church when, even while she was in her cradle, her devout parents regularly offered prayers and hymns that provided a spiritual culture that pervaded the home (see Message to The Mother Church for 1901, p. 31 ).

All is infinite Mind and its infinite manifestation, for God is All-in-all” ( Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p.

The blessings of work in the church ‘lab’

Our church had a special meeting last year at which we were invited to write a paragraph about the difference our branch Church of Christ, Scientist, makes in our life. I began my contribution by recalling how much I had enjoyed my chemistry classes in college.

Staying in Spirit

When I was in third grade , my teacher asked each student in our class to draw a pie chart to illustrate how much time we each thought we spent on various activities throughout our day. Before drawing the charts, though, we first generated, as a class, a list of possible activities we could choose to include in our charts.

Abiding safely in Christ

The security we all yearn for is found only in the teachings of Christ. When Christ Jesus said, “If ye abide in me” ( John 15:7 ), he gave us the prerequisite for his every promise of good, including “There shall not an hair of your head perish” ( Luke 21:18 ).
