Exploring in depth what Christian Science is and how it heals.

I’ve come to appreciate the inspired wisdom that led Mary Baker Eddy to found Christian Science Reading Rooms. These Reading Rooms serve their neighborhoods by making the truths of the Science of Christianity available through the writings of Mary Baker Eddy, the Bible, and other resources provided by The Christian Science Publishing Society.

Preparing thought for the seed of Science

Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower. When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart.

Such a beautiful story!

Editor’s note: Heloísa, the author of this article, has been asked by the Christian Science Board of Lectureship to be available this lecture year (July 1, 2018, to June 30, 2019) specifically to give lectures in Spanish and Portuguese, sponsored in the United States and abroad. Picture yourself in a small village in Brazil sometime in the 1600s or 1700s.

Living our prayers

Thoughts filled with Truth

The author shares how healing is possible when we "let our thoughts be filled with Truth, with what is spiritually normal and divinely natural."

The grace to go forward

Mary Baker Eddy’s writing style

Attending publishing conferences over the years as the Publisher’s Agent for Mary Baker Eddy’s writings has led to some interesting conversations. As I’m surrounded by publishers, literary agents, and authors—all scrambling for networking contacts and increased marketing and sales opportunities—conversations others initiate with me often end up being brief.

Intelligence gathering—a spiritual model

Centuries ago, a band of spies was sent to assess the resources and defenses of a foreign territory. The future of an entire people was at stake, and their leader—the Hebrew patriarch Moses—charged his agents to bring back a detailed report.

To those coping with chronic pain, anxiety, or depression, opioid pills hold out the promise of a longed-for oasis in what can seem like an endless desert. But the relief these drugs offer is a short-lived mirage, and for many people it comes at the high price of dependency.

“ Our thoughts and prayers are with them” is an expression that’s come under a lot of fire recently. It’s accused not only of being a meaningless phrase, but of hiding a mentality that isn’t really willing to do something useful.
