ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS

From the November 1884 issue of The Christian Science Journal

F. A. B. asks: "Is there any reason why the command in James 5: 14 will not hold binding for our obedience to-day, as well as for those to whom James wrote the letter, A.D. 60"?

It is universally claimed in all branches of the Christian Church, that healing the sick by the power of divine Spirit is not permissible in these days, because the age of miracles is past.

Unbelief in God's presence and power to reveal himself as Life, Health, Harmony, is fatal to a proof of it, if the "elders" whose office it is to verify the promise, besides their unbelief, refuse to investigate the Science upon which revelation is based. The command to the people and "elders" is binding to-day, but unheeded.
