TO THE JOURNAL READERS

From the September 1884 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Owing to a pressure of other duties, the founder and editor of this Journal has concluded to put the editorship of future numbers into the hands of a student whose term of service begins with the present issue.

The editorship will be resumed by Mrs. Eddy at her own option, whenever the removal of present obligations will render it possible. And, since the present incumbent feels that in no wise is she equal to the trust hereby reposed in her, let it be truly hoped that our leader will soon again be enabled to resume her rightful place at the head of this public organ of the science founded and taught by her.

The platform of the Scientists, as heretofore set forth and maintained, will still be the basis of the Journal's structure.
