Dear Mrs. Eddy.— Had a glorious demonstration of Christian Science by one of my students. Two weeks ago a lady confined in child-birth had seven convulsions. She had four doctors, and they all agreed it was impossible for her to live. The family then sent for our student, who was their next door neighbor. One of the Drs. told her, when she arrived, that the case was hopeless, that the brain was dead already, and that if she lived at all she would never know anything; pulse 160, nails black, and strength sinking fast. The Scientist worked away quietly. The Dr. advised the family to retire and seek rest for the trial before them. They took leave of the patient, making arrangements for the funeral. Still our friend worked on. The family retired for rest. In three hours the patient revived; asked for ice water, which was given her; then for toast, which was given. Then the bed was changed, the patient turning herself to assist the nurse. The family came in the morning, and found her restored. They said: "You have raised her from the dead." The M. D. brought it before the Allopathy College, and all agree it was a miracle. But when will they accept Christian Science? The light cannot be put out, for it is lighted by His hand.
