We live in deeds, not years; in thoughts, not...

From the September 1886 issue of The Christian Science Journal

We live in deeds, not years; in thoughts, not
breaths;
In heart-throbs, not in figures on a dial.
. . . . . He most lives,
Who thinks most, feels the noblest, acts the
best.

Good, once put in action or in thought,
Like a strong oak, doth from its boughs send
down
The ripe germs of a forest.
