Poems

WASHINGTON

From the February 1888 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The Truth he told, the Truth he lived;
Truth was his very self.
Loyal to God, a nation's friend.
He lived above all pelf.

So should we live, so may we live,
Contending for Truth's part:
For all of us in God are one,
Create in Love's deep heart.
