THE CORNER STONE

From the July 1894 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.

Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place.

Isaiah 28: 16-17.

To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious.

Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

Wherefore also it is contained in the Scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.

1 Pet. 2: 4-6.

The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.

This is the Lord's doing; and it is marvellous in our eyes.

This is the day which the Lord hath made: we will rejoice and be glad in it.

Ps. 118: 22-24.
