CHURCH NOTES FOR JULY

From the July 1903 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The following churches appear for the first time in this issue of the Journal:—

El Paso, Tex.; Minneapolis, Minn. (Fourth).

The following new churches, formerly advertised as societies, are now holding regular services:—

Moline, Ill.; Pomona, Cal.

Regular services are announced for the first time at,—

Boyne, Mich.; Coldwater, Mich.; Paola, Kan.

Notice of the uniting of churches has been received in the case of,—

First and Second Churches of Christ, Scientist, in Memphis, Tenn.

If we look at any Old Testament text about consecration, we shall see that the marginal reading of the word is "fill the hand." Now, if our hands are full of "other things," they cannot be filled with "the things that are Christ's;" there must be emptying before there can be any true filling.—
