About a year ago my son, who was then living in Streator, Ill., wrote me that his health was failing, and that his physicians had advised him to give up his position and come home, as they could do nothing more for him. They told him he had pulmonary trouble, but perhaps a change of climate would be beneficial to him. I wrote him to come home at once, and when he came I scarcely recognized him, he looked so badly in every way. In a few minutes after his arrival he had an attack which seemed to frighten him considerably, and he asked me if I thought he could be helped in Christian Science. I told him that I knew he could be entirely healed, and the next morning I went with him to a practitioner. After talking with them for a few minutes, I left, and treatment was given. I did not see my son again until that night, but the moment I came in the room I noticed that a great change had taken place in him, even to the expression in his eyes, which were very bright. Of course I wanted to ask him how he felt, but I refrained from doing so, and in a short while he told me he was feeling much better, that he had coughed very little during the day and had no hemorrhage; that if Christian Science could bring about such good results, it must surely be the truth. He read Christian Science literature, and continued with the treatment, and in just ten days from the time treatment was first given, he was healed, — sound and well. I can say truthfully that never before in his life do I remember to have seen him look better.
Christian Science not only healed him physically, but it has benefited him morally, financially, and spiritually. Immediately after this he took a position in Dallas, and remained about two months. After leaving here, he went to Indian Territory, and in the mean time purchased a copy of Science and Health. He is now back in Illinois, has resumed his old position, and writes me that he is perfectly well, is getting on nicely with his business, that he has had no return of the old trouble. Best of all, he claims to be a confirmed Christian Scientist, realizing daily his deep debt of gratitude to God, and to Mrs. Eddy, for what Christian Science has done and is doing for him. I also have the pleasure of knowing that he is sincere in his study of Christian Science, and is applying its teachings to his daily life. For all this, words are insufficient to express my gratitude to God, the giver of all good, but this testimony is my thanksgiving to Him for His blessed messenger, Mrs. Eddy, who has so clearly brought to light the truth of the Bible, thus giving us a true concept of God and of man's true being. — Dallas, Tex.
