In gratitude to God, and also to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, I would like to relate briefly my experience in Christian Science. About eight years ago I suffered greatly with my back. The physicians whose advice I asked differed in their opinions, and all remedies failed. My family physician advised me to go to Berlin to a specialist. I did so, and after an examination with Roentgen-rays he diagnosed the case as spinal trouble, saying that it was a severe case, and that a cure was doubtful. He ordered plaster appliances for both day and night, but I found no relief. It was very burdensome to use those things, and I often said to my dear ones that I would rather die.
In my great trouble an acquaintance told me of the healing through Christian Science, she herself having been healed of a trouble of many years' standing. I was immediately convinced that I. too, could be healed; so I turned with confidence to a practitioner, and asked for treatment. Relief came immediately, and after two weeks I could take off the gypsum armor and go on long walks, which I had not been able to do for years. I improved every day, and after three months' treatment I returned home a well woman. That was three years ago. Since that time I have studied Christian Science; and I am coming to understand better every day that divine Love is almighty and ever-present; that we can find help nowhere but in God. Through the reading of Der Herold I am learning to go forward in this path of peace and harmony, where we can overcome all errors with the truth. My husband has also been healed of a chronic stomach trouble through this Christ-method, and my only son has been healed of a catarrhal throat trouble and freed from great fear.
I am very grateful to God for all I have received through Christian Science, and that He has sent our dear Leader to show us the way.
