That the application of Christian Science heals all manner of diseases is a fact to which many people are daily testifying. The writer considers it a privilege to tell of one of the many instances in which this Science has been a help to him, and hopes that the following brief account may be the means of leading others to learn the value of the truth as explained in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy.
At one time, I was afflicted with carious bone, the disease occurring in a portion of the jaw as a result of an improperly filled tooth. The doctor who had the case in hand decided that the decayed portion of bone should be removed in order to prevent spread of the disease. I knew something of Christian Science, and while attending a Wednesday evening meeting heard the following passage read from Science and Health (p. 162): "Christian Science acts as an alterative, neutralizing error with Truth. It changes the secretions, expels humors, dissolves tumors, relaxes rigid muscles, restores carious bones to soundness." I went from that meeting resolved to postpone the operation advised by the physician, and to put the case into the hands of a Christian Science practitioner. I did so; and about three weeks later was rejoiced to find that all symptoms of the disease had disappeared and that the bone had become sound and whole. There has been no return of the disease since this healing, which took place over three years ago.
Those who have been made free from physical ailments through Christian Science are indeed grateful for these blessings. But it is for the spiritual uplift this Science brings that they are thankful beyond expression. Its teachings lift men from moral darkness into light; help them to be honest, kind, and pure; enable them to know "the one true God," which Jesus said "is life eternal." No one who has caught a glimpse of the significance of Christian Science can be unmindful of the great work of its Founder, nor can he help saying from the bottom of his heart, "God bless Mrs. Eddy."—Denver, Col.
