I, too, wish to express my thankfulness to infinite Love for what I have experienced through Christian Science. Three years ago last October a physician declared me to be suffering from lung trouble, and also a tubercular affection of the bowels. This was a great grief for me and my family, and I applied to six other physicians in the hope that one of them would contradict this assertion; but, unhappily, they all confirmed it. In October I entered a sanitarium for such cases, but returned home at Christmas, as my savings were exhausted. I again visited my former doctor, who said that I must go to Davos if I were not soon better. At this time of greatest need and anxiety I heard of Christian Science, and eagerly applied to a Christian Science practitioner. The truth was declared for me, and I tried earnestly to gain understanding. In three weeks I felt so strong that I could resume my heavy work in an art-joinery, and I experienced one blessing after another. I learned that in God there is no poverty, no want, and my wages were repeatedly raised voluntarily.
Infinite Love has continued to he my "shield and buckler." One day, after I had pushed a heavy load up hill, I came home greatly heated, and in the night to my dismay I found that I could not raise my arm. We sent for the Christian Science practitioner, being in great anxiety. She assured us that error has no power; that God is the only power, the only cause, the only creator, and that man is His image and likeness; therefore there can be but one Truth, if God is All-in-all. Within a quarter of an hour I joyfully raised my arm, and with a thankful heart wiped away my tears of joy. The next day I went to work again as usual. Since my healing I have gained thirty-five pounds in weight.
After God, I thank our inspired Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who had the courage to bring the teachings of our Saviour, Christ Jesus, before the whole world and to prove them. Christian Science brings us help in every time of need.
