I have received so many blessings since I accepted Christian Science that I feel it a duty to tell others something of what it has done for our home. When Christian Science found me, I had been an invalid for seven years, but I was healed, and was soon able to help others. All my life I had been subject to colds, but never made much effort to overcome them. In April, 1908, I became hoarse, but as usual gave it little attention, so I soon found myself in bed with high fever, a cough, and some very serious symptoms. I was in this condition a week before I had, any treatment, but in one week after a Christian Science practitioner began treatment I could sit up, although I was very weak and my lungs quite painful. In two more weeks, however. I was doing my household duties, and in a few more weeks the cough was entirely' overcome. The healing was so complete that I have never since then had a cold which has given me any trouble.
I cannot close this without mentioning one more healing, for the sake of the dear wives who have drinking husbands, to help them to know there is a "balm in Gilead" to heal tin's evil. Twelve years ago my husband was a mental and physical wreck from drink. He could not do without it, and it seemed as if he could not live with it. He called me to his bedside one morning and said, "Write for Christian Science treatment for me—I must have help."' I wrote to a practitioner, and in two weeks he was a sober man and has never tasted liquor since. The appetite was gone, and now I have a sober husband who reads the Lessons with me each day. Words are inadequate to express our gratitude to God, and to Mrs. Eddy for Christian Science. Only those who have never had the privilege of church services and of associating with other Scientists can know what the literature means to me.—Yadkinville, N. C.
