From the February 1911 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I Owe a debt of gratitude to Christian Science for the many blessings which it has brought me. Some ten years ago I turned to Christian Science and was healed of a severe chronic ailment, after I had consulted various physicians without receiving relief. During the first period of my having Christian Science treatment I was so unfortunate as to injure seriously my left arm, and in my bewilderment at once went to the physician in order to have the arm set. Upon the advice of my husband, who was not then an adherent of Christian Science, I went to see the physician several times after this, because of my arm. After a number of weeks the bandage was taken off, and it was found that the arm had grown entirely out of line with its normal position, and I was also unable to move it. I now relied entirely on Christian Science help, with the result that a few weeks later I recovered the use of the arm, including the finger-joints.

About five years ago I had a return of my old complaints, caused by great mental excitement. Besides the serious affection of the heart and lungs, I had severe hemorrhage of the kidneys, while the functions of the internal organs seemed to have come to a standstill; but, thanks be to Christian Science, this grievous condition was soon overcome, and today I feel better and stronger than I did fifteen years ago, although I am well along in years. These are my personal experiences; but my near relatives, too, have received many a proof of this glorious truth.
