I am truly grateful for Christian Science and for what it has done for me. I sought it for healing, which seemed to come to me slowly and through great effort to obtain the truth which makes free, but I can say that every effort met its reward in a higher understanding and a clearer perception of the healing and redemptive Christ, as given in the Scriptures and made available through "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. For twenty two years I was in bondage to the drug habit, contracted through the use of opiates to allay nervous disorders. I had tried many material remedies, but never received a permanent cure until Christian Science was presented to me four years ago, after which I received treatment at intervals, until in February, 1909, I gained the final victory without a doubt in the realization of man's God-given dominion.
Words cannot express the gratitude I feel for the freedom of this physical healing and for the glorious illumination of spiritual understanding. I could not live without this blessed truth, for it is my very life. I go to sleep thinking of God, and awaken voicing the truth. I have not only been enabled in the past year to help myself, but have been able to meet many ills of others in my own family through the realization of the omnipresence and omnipotence of God, as taught by our dear Leader.
