My family and myself have every reason to be grateful for all that Christian Science has done for us. One Sunday evening in May. 1911, our oldest boy was suddenly taken with severe headache. We tried to help him with our small understanding, but the pain did not yield, and on the following day it grew more severe. Finally fever set in, and the boy became unconscious. We then telephoned to a Christian Science practitioner for help, and in order to have a correct diagnosis we also called in a physician. He stated that it was tubercular inflammation of the brain, and also said that the boy would not live more than a week; that it would be useless to prescribe a remedy, as medical skill could afford no help in such a case. He also predicted a bad night.
After the physician left we informed the practitioner of the results of his examination, and she immdiately took up treatment, with the result that instead of having a bad night the boy had a very good sleep. He slept all the following day and the following night, but by Saturday morning he had regained consciousness and his mind became clearer, while the fever had almost disappeared. When the physician called that morning and saw the boy's improved condition, he could hardly believe it to be true. In two weeks' time the boy was entirely restored through Christian Science.
My wife has also been healed of a severe catarrhal difficulty within a very short time, through Christian Science, and I myself have been freed through its ministry of a chronic stomach disorder, of rheumatism, and of frequent headaches accompanied by severe pain. Christian Science has been a great blessing to us in many respects, and we hardly know how to express our gratitude for all the good received.
