Testimonies of Healing

Words cannot express the gratitude...

From the March 1913 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Words cannot express the gratitude I owe to God for Christian Science, not alone for restoration of health but for happiness and that peace of mind which "passeth all understanding." Until I found this great truth, I had never known what it was to be well. From infancy, scarcely a day passed without medicine of some sort. This ill health, together with much sorrow, culminated in a nervous collapse for which physicians were able to do absolutely nothing. I was sent to California to avoid our severe northern winter, but there I grew so much worse that it was certain, unless some relief came, I never should return.

Here as a last resort, and with no faith in it, I turned to Christian Science. I was helped at once, and in two months I returned to my family much improved. From that time, more than six years ago, I have never asked in vain for help, and my health has been much better than it ever was under the care of the best physicians. More than this, however, I appreciate the understanding of divine Principle gained in Christian Science, and the government of good. Formerly the power of evil seemed so great that good was wellnigh smothered. There was a continual sense of discouragement in this struggle with wrong of every sort. The one thought that no good is ever lost has given me more strength and help than many sermons. In every line of activity Christian Science has been of the greatest benefit, enabling me to accomplish much more and do much better work. I feel especially grateful for the helpful editorials in the Journal and Sentinel, as well as for the daily article in our Monitor.

For all these blessings and countless others I am devoutly thankful to God for having sent to this age and generation, through Mrs. Eddy, the Discoverer of Christian Science, that redemptive truth which leads suffering mankind from the deserts and waste places of human experience to health, peace, and joy.—
