I am glad to avail myself of the opportunity to testify to the healing power of Christian Science. For five years prior to becoming acquainted with its teachings, I had been struggling with a severe affection of the knee-joint. Several physicians had informed me that this trouble was incurable, and one of them said that even if I lived another twenty years my leg would be no better. My state of discouragement and dejection may be imagined, for the condition was very painful and made it impossible for me to move around without some support.
About this time I heard of Christian Science through an acquaintance, and I immediately applied to a faithful practitioner, who gave me the needed explanation of the subject and took up treatment. A period of mental work began for me, as the constant realization of the truth was necessary to overcome fear and doubt; but time and again there was proof of God's willingness to help, which inspired me with trust, till now, after two years, my healing is complete. For this I am thankful to God, and grateful to Mrs. Eddy.
I would also like to express my appreciation of the German version of the text-book "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," for I know that through the reading of this book I am acquiring a better concept of God's power and of that which is essential to our salvation.— Schorndorf, Württemberg, Germany.
