I am very glad to add my testimony to the many which I read week by week, of the blessings and the happiness that Christian Science has brought into our home. It may also be a help to others to know of the good healing work that has been done in this field in general. I can mention several cases in our own family circle. Our daughter, aged fifteen, was suffering from an attack of rheumatic fever which followed the measles. She could not sit upright, move her wrists or bend her fingers, and this condition was accompanied by high fever. I called for help from a kind Christian Science friend, and with a few absent treatments she was healed in five days. A schoolfellow suffering from the same trouble, and treated in materia medica, was in bed two months.
Our elder daughter was healed of a gathering in the ear, following measles. As she was in most severe pain, I called for help from the same kind friend, and in half an hour the pain was gone. Next day the gathering broke with very little inconvenience and no return of the suffering. The discharge stopped in a few days, also the deafness caused by the gathering, leaving her quite well.
Our little boy of three was relieved in one absent treatment when he had severe pains in his legs, which seemed stiff. He at once went to sleep, and though he was a bit stiff the next morning, by the time he reached our church room for Sunday morning service he was well, and lie has not had a return of the illness since. The birth of our last child was in every way the nearest normal that I had ever experienced. I was practically free from pain, and the nurse in attendance said it was the most remarkable case she had attended.
