I feel it a joy as well as a privilege to give my testimony in regard to the many benefits I have received through Christian Science. About four and a half years ago a relative became so interested in this teaching that I was induced to investigate it for myself. Shortly afterward I was taken very ill with influenza and whooping-cough, and I asked for treatment. In about a week I was completely healed, being left with no weakness, although this had always followed previous attacks of influenza and compelled me to be absent from my home for some weeks.
Through the understanding of our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, I have also been healed of catarrh of the bowels, from which I had suffered for many years and which several doctors had pronounced chronic. I can now eat anything I desire without the slightest fear. Another proof of the power of Christian Science was given me while in church during the Sunday morning service, the subject of the Lesson-Sermon being "Life." I found myself reading without glasses, which I had not been able to do for some years. I am indeed grateful for the understanding that Christian Science gives me of God as divine Mind, ever present in every time of need.
Some time ago I was badly bitten on my face by a parrot, and at first there was great fear of poisoning; but the right understanding of God as taught by our Leader so quickly healed me that in a few days not even the slightest mark was left on my face. I was also healed of a badly injured ankle, being able in about three days to walk up and down steep hills without the slightest pain or inconvenience.
