I want to express my deep gratitude for the many blessings which have flowed into my life since I have gained some understanding of Christian Science. There was always a great hunger in my heart to learn more of God, a craving which the old religious belief had never satisfied. A fruitless search was begun in other directions, among other religions, and the truth of the Bible text, "Ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart," was at last lovingly verified. The blessed truths of Christian Science were explained to me, and eagerly I sought to understand.
I might say that my primal desire was not for physical benefits, but to learn of God as Love; and this opportunity was offered to me by Christian Science. It was only by knowledge of such a God that there ever could have come into my life the peace "which passeth all understanding." Then I knew that the prayer I had uttered since childhood, that God would show me His way, had been answered, and all doubts were laid at rest. At once headaches and stomach trouble, also a case of severe burn and an ulcerated tooth, were overcome. These were met with the slight understanding I then had of Christian Science, consisting principally of the thought of God as all good, all powerful, and ever present.
During the four intervening years Christian Science has continued to be my one source of refuge, and many errors have been vanquished. Only once have I had to ask for help from a practitioner, and then the need was met within an hour. For all these wondrous blessings I am deeply thankful to God, and also grateful to our dear Leader. My heart overflows with praise and joy for the understanding I have obtained, through the revelation of Christian Science, of a God who, as Science and Health teaches, is "infinite, all-power, all Life, Truth, Love, over all, and All" (p. 17).
