Though I have only recently taken up the study of Christian Science, the wonderful results obtained and the great blessings already derived impel me to do my share in spreading the knowledge of Truth. I had long ago given up the study of the Bible, being unable to accept any of the numerous interpretations, which I labeled as doctrines of fear. Even then I could not associate God with fear, for God to me meant absolute justice. Christian Science I classed with the rest, owing to a superficial acquaintance with some Christian Scientists and my false concept of intelligence.
There came a time when self-built philosophy failed me, and through the efforts of loving hearts I turned to Christian Science for help. As a result the fog has lifted and I have grounded my faith on Truth, the source which is inexhaustible. For seventeen years I had, as a result of hardship and exposure in tropical climes, been forced to resort to medicine for temporary relief from pain and resultant discouragement. Today I am a new man physically and mentally, daily learning more of man's true heritage as a son of God. I have no further need of medicine in any form. The smoking habit of twenty-five years' standing has also been overcome.
Words cannot express my gratitude for the spiritual uplift which has come to me through Christian Science. I am indeed grateful to Mrs. Eddy, whose years of patient, unselfish research placed a never failing beacon to light the straight path through material error for all who seek the solid rock of Truth on which to found their faith. A life of service alone can prove my gratitude, and to this end I shall live and work.—Covina, Cal.
