During the lifetime that it has been my privilege to spend under the protecting care of Christian Science I have had many healings, both physical and moral, that are truly miracles of Love. It would be impossible to recount here all the healings that God wrought for me in childhood; and in the later and more trying years of schooling which followed, that same protection has been with me, removing mental and physical limitations of all kinds and directing me to an enlarged understanding of God.
Some few years ago during a game of football I was thrown violently upon the ground on one shoulder, breaking the collar bone; but Christian Science proved ever available and the pain was overcome within a half hour. In an hour I was able to use the arm at the dinner table, and from that time forth I could handle a fork or write with no inconvenience or pain. Although I attended school every day, the condition remained unnoticed by my fellow pupils. In about two weeks the bones were restored to wholeness and since then have given no trouble.
Christian Science has also proved potent to remove some foreign substance from the eye even after human effort had proved unavailing. While working over an emery wheel one day, I was struck in the eye by a flying piece of steel. The particle embedded itself firmly in the eye surface and seemed immovable; but when material efforts ceased and the ever operative law of Truth was allowed to have its perfect way, the steel was quickly and perfectly removed.
