I cannot express my gratitude for all that Christian Science has done and is doing for me. After my little girl, five years old, had undergone three operations for appendicitis and its complications, we were told that she could not live. Then we turned to God, and through the loving work of a Christian Science practitioner the child was entirely healed. In three weeks she was running about as usual and was stronger than ever. Out of gratitude for her recovery I began to read Science and Health, and before I had finished the chapter on Prayer I took my glasses off and have not worn them since, although for two years I had not been able to do without them for one minute of the day. I have been healed of a nervous breakdown, also of catarrh and chapped hands.
For all these healings I am grateful, but even deeper is my gratitude for the understanding of God as Love and for the peace, joy, and harmony which I am gaining every day. I am so thankful that my children can be taught the power of Truth and that I know that divine Love and Truth can destroy all discords. Having been a trained nurse I believed firmly in the reality of sickness, and am so glad that it has become unreal to me through the understanding of the allness of God, good. Home conditions are becoming more harmonious, for different members of my family are beginning to read the Bible in connection with Science and Health. I am also thankful for the Christian Science literature and the Lesson-Sermons. I am trying to be a true Christian Scientist for my own happiness, and also for the help I can be to others. I am deeply thankful to God and grateful to Mrs. Eddy for all that has helped me on the upward way.— Webster, N. Y.
