Testimonies of Healing

I heard about Christian Science...

From the May 1918 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I heard about Christian Science some years ago from my family, and have had many blessings from it since. I was first healed of the habit of smoking, which it had seemed impossible for me to give up. Since the beginning of the war I have been protected in many painful circumstances, from dysentery and other ills. Moreover, I believed I had a hernia from having overexerted myself—at least that seemed to be the condition. I asked an aunt who is a Christian Scientist to help me, and in a month the whole trouble disappeared,—the suffering, the fear, and the hernia,— and my condition became normal. Like many of my comrades I had to undergo inoculation against various fevers. Many were ill as a consequence, but I never had any fear or suffered from any bad effects.

Whenever I can do so I study the Lesson-Sermons, as I brought my books with me to the front, although at first this seemed impossible. I am very grateful to all my friends who have helped me to understand what Christian Science is to us, a light to illumine our way, and we can never be grateful enough to Mrs. Eddy, who has given it to us.—Georges Finqueneisel, Paris, France

It is a great pleasure to certify that the statement of my nephew is true.  We have received so many blessings that my gratitude for Christian Science is boundless. I feel also very grateful indeed to The Christian Science Publishing Society for the good that comes through them continually.  Surely they prove in acts the wisdom of our Leader in giving us the Sentinel, Herald, and Monitor.   The Journal and Quarterly are splendid testimonials of the truth, guiding and guarding. "The night is far spent, the day is at hand: . . . let us put on the armour of light." May we all as true Christian Scientists watch and pray.—
