About eighteen years ago, during a period of physical suffering, I became very much discouraged because the remedies prescribed by physicians brought no relief. Then Christian Science was recommended. I got in touch with a practitioner the same day and after a few treatments I was completely healed. I did not, however, take up the study of Christian Science until a number of years later, although I lost all faith in material remedies after that healing. When I began to study "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, together with the Bible, many discordant conditions were overcome, one of which was goiter. This had been treated by various material methods, but in vain. I was also healed of influenza.
I am very thankful for even a little understanding of the truth and deeply grateful for the spiritual awakening which comes through the daily study of Christian Science. The Bible has become to me a treasure house of blessings, whereas before I learned of this beautiful teaching it was a closed book. I was also very indifferent about going to church, but now I have found a practical religion and church services that satisfy. Another gratifying phase of Christian Science is that its teaching can be applied to all our daily problems. Last but not least, I am grateful to our Leader for her untiring efforts to teach all mankind a better understanding of God and for what this knowledge means to each one of us.— Citronelle, Ala.
