Through Christian Science I was lifted from a lifetime of invalidism, having been poisoned by vaccination when just eighteen months old. For six years my body was almost entirely covered with malignant sores, and my life was many times despaired of. Various physicians and specialists were consulted and employed with only occasional alleviation of the incessant pain. Finally organic heart disease was added to my unfortunate condition. After that my life was one long history of experiment with medicine, which no doubt was the cause of disturbed digestion and impaired circulation. It was commonly asserted that I was liable to drop dead at any moment; yet I struggled through forty-two years.
Then it was that God sent to me a Christian Scientist friend, who drew me toward the light; but I hesitated to accept her religion, having been long a member of an orthodox church which had declared my suffering was according to God's will. I, however, met a practitioner and later witnessed some demonstrations of healing. Just at that time I was seized with erysipelas, and as doctors had not done me any good, I thought it no harm to ask for Christian Science treatment. As a result I was completely healed in a few hours. Many other conditions have yielded to the power of Truth. It has been about three years since I tasted drugs. My healing has proved permanent and through Science I am able to surmount difficulties that otherwise would overcome me. Being encouraged by this new-old faith to take up my life duties without restriction through fear or doubt, I am conscious of more freedom and peace.
