It is seven years since I received my first glimpse of the truth as taught in Christian Science. I was not ready for this until every material means had been resorted to and failed. Then when I was willing to humble myself and become as a little child, I received my first healing through Christian Science.
While I had suffered considerably from a discordant physical condition, wearing a heavy support for what the doctors called a movable kidney, the mental darkness was a great deal worse. I had grown into the habit of hating every one. It seemed as if no matter where I turned for help there was a high wall in my consciousness that would allow me to go so far and no farther. Since coming into Christian Science I have learned that this seeming wall is a belief in a mind apart from God, and as I strive to put off this false sense of mind and put on the Mind that was in Christ Jesus, I am gaining mental and physical freedom.
I have had many proofs of the protection and loving guidance of divine Mind, and when the help does not come so quickly as I think it should, it is due to lack of right application on my part. I am grateful for The Christian Science Monitor, which has done much toward purifying my thought, also for the other authorized literature, especially the Lesson-Sermon. — Lincoln, Neb.
