I hope that this testimony of my awakening from a continual dream of pain, misery, and fear may encourage others who are looking for help. All my life I had suffered untold misery from stomach trouble and various complications, sometimes being in bed a week at a time with high fever and in constant pain. I had been to many physicians and each one diagnosed my case differently, none offering the slightest relief or encouragement except to put me on a more rigid diet. Although not yet twenty-one I was a physical and mental wreck. Finally in desperation I went to a Christian Science practitioner, as I said to my family, to prove that here at last was a case Christian Science could not possibly heal, and I told the practitioner as much on my first visit, but left her office the next day healed.
A few times since then the temptation to fear has come, but the consequences have been slight and have been overcome in a few hours and sometimes instantaneously. I am now in perfect health. Although I have known of this wonderful truth only a short time, I use this knowledge every moment, and I know that nothing can ever take it away from me. Words cannot describe the peace and joy that have come to me through the wonderful realization of what Life really is. The only way to express my gratitude to Mrs. Eddy for her untiring perseverance in establishing forever this wonderful truth is by deeds and not words; and the only road to perfect health and happiness is the constant study of our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures."— Nutley, N.
