In the fall of 1903 I was taken with an attack of neuralgia in the left side of the face. I had been suffering for several days, when the afflicted part began to turn black and there came a large lump on the jawbone. I had been studying the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, a short time, and was declaring the truth the best I could but did not seem to get any better, so I wrote to a practitioner for absent treatment. I could not lie down, as the pain was so severe, and that night it was even worse. The letter would not reach the practitioner until the next day and it seemed as if I could not endure the pain through the night. Then I commenced declaring the truth again, but the thought came that it would not do any good. Immediately, however, came the assurance that if I held fast and was firm, the good would come—and it did. After some time the pain stopped and I slept until morning. My face was discolored for a day or two, but all the pain and swelling was gone. Since then I have been healed of an internal trouble in its worst form, also of heart disease.
I am thankful to God, the giver of all good, also grateful to Mrs. Eddy for Christian Science.—Fort Scott, Kan.
