After having heard a great deal about Christian Science and having repeatedly felt drawn to the teaching through its clarity and simplicity, I began the study of the Lesson-Sermons in 1914, not for bodily healing, but to be freed from a dissatisfied state of mind—to fulfill a yearning for the truth. The result was amazingly rapid. I gained rest and joy and the glorious certainty of having found the right way. This certainty has never left me for an instant throughout all these years, although during many testing times I have found that "strait is the gate, and narrow is the way," as stated in the Bible. The proofs of God's loving care, which have strengthened and guided me again and again when fear seemed to close the way, have also been unfailing. Thanks to loving, patient help, I have among other things been completely healed of a tenacious throat trouble combined with great bodily weakness. The healing advanced in proportion to the gradual clarity gained regarding the truth about health, and the positive unreality of sickness and inharmony.
I am especially grateful for the realization that all without exception have access to the wealth of divine Love, and for this reason false thoughts of apprehension and fear for loved ones are becoming more and more a thing of the past; for I know all abide in God's protecting care. It is my desire to bring my thought and life more and more into accord with Principle, Love, Truth, and Life, and in this way to prove my gratitude.— Chur, Switzerland.
