I wish to express my gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me and for all the blessings I have received through the study of it. It was presented to me about nine years ago, when it proved to me that "man's extremity is God's opportunity." I had been ailing for many years and spent hundreds of dollars trying to find relief through medical aid; when I thought one ailment was better, another would present itself.
I suffered greatly with rheumatism, which finally seemingly settled in nerves and joints, and when my fingers began to get disfigured and jawbone almost set, fear began to set in, and sickness and discord seemed to becloud my mental atmosphere, and it seemed that insanity was the next thing to bind me. I have always had great faith in prayer, and prayed to God for light to dispel this mental darkness. My prayer was heard and answered.
The next day a dear friend came in to see me and told me about Christian Science. It was all new and strange to me, but she lovingly explained it to me to the best of her ability, and it appealed to me; but the fear of getting away from God seemed to worry me, and when she left some pamphlets for me to read I was soon convinced that it was the truth I had been looking for all my life, and it brought me closer to God than ever before. With the help of a practitioner I was healed, not only physically but mentally as well.
