Before becoming a student of...

From the December 1920 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Before becoming a student of Christian Science, I looked upon Scientists, as many do who are misinformed, as worshiping Mrs. Eddy. The first time I attended the church service that thought predominated with me, but I had traveled far and long to find the religion of Jesus and had as yet failed to find it in the numerous creeds, so decided that day to borrow, from the reading room, a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. Before two weeks had elapsed, through the reading of this wonderful book I was convinced that I had found the religion I had been seeking for,—the religion of Jesus, which he proved would heal sickness as well as sin. Since that wonderful time, each day's unfoldment of the truth has been more wonderful to me.

In my short experience as a student of Christian Science I have been healed of sciatic rheumatism, malaria, have been able to lay aside glasses which I had worn for twelve years, and by knowing the ever presence of God have overcome an intense fear of storms. Each day brings the assurance and added proof that Christian Science is the religion of Jesus, which is built upon the rock, Christ. I am grateful for the life of Mrs. Eddy.—
