Five years ago I was in despair, having suffered for several years with severe stomach and nervous troubles. The physician finally declared that drugs and dieting would not cure me. That "man's extremity is God's opportunity" was proved in my case. At this time my husband, acting upon the advice of a friend, asked me to try Christian Science. The following Sunday I attended the evening service. When I entered the church I was in mental and physical distress, but the reading from the desk that "God is Love" and "an ever present help in trouble" gave me great relief and hope. After the service I borrowed "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and read it until midnight. I then realized that I could not serve "God and mammon" and immediately disposed of my medicine. My healing covered a period of six months, and during this time I had several attacks, each one being less severe, until I was completely healed. I have been healed of farsightedness through the realization that sight is spiritual. I have also been healed of an eruption on the face, and of extreme fear.
I am thankful not only for the physical healings but for the understanding of God and man's relation to Him, which I have learned through the sincere study of Christian Science.
