I find the testimonies in the periodicals interesting and beneficial, and, remembering the words of Jesus, "Freely ye have received, freely give," I feel it is my duty, as well as privilege, to send in a testimony, and do so with a desire to help others as I have been helped. I can truly say I am grateful for some understanding of Christian Science. It has lifted me out of a great many difficulties and it is continually showing me the right path in which to tread. I have been healed of various ailments, including colds and influenza, and have been able to make numerous demonstrations, some with the aid of a practitioner and some by reliance upon my own understanding. One thing I am particularly grateful for is the unfoldment of patience and endurance. I find myself withstanding what would seem impossible did I not have the truth to aid me in right reasoning.
Another thing I am grateful for is the free distribution of literature. My work demands of me constant traveling and it is not always possible for me to go to reading rooms for what literature I desire, but I find enough to meet my need in hotel lobbies, railway stations, and theaters. No matter what the date, and whether it be Journal, Sentinel, Monitor, or pamphlet, it always contains the good that we at that moment may be yearning for. Christian Science is indeed the "pearl of great price"' and I can prove my gratitude for this wonderful truth only by striving to walk in the footsteps of our Master, obeying his commands, and adhering to the teaching of Mary Baker Eddy as set forth in her textbook.
