With deep thankfulness to God I wish to give a brief testimony of a healing received through Christian Science. My eyes began to trouble me several years ago and the pain became more severe as time went on. I applied various remedies and had medical treatment for three months, but without any noteworthy results, and then discontinued the treatment. Finally the pain in the eyes became unbearable, so that I was nearly desperate. I, too, was to know that "man's extremity is God's opportunity."
While in a store in which I frequently made purchases, I heard of Christian Science through the proprietress, and as a drowning man grasps at a straw, I decided to seek help in that direction without delay. I attended the meetings and church services, but did not gain a very clear understanding of the teaching, so sought a practitioner, who lovingly helped me. In connection with her help I read Der Herold diligently. In this way I gradually approached the truth. I also had Christian Science treatment and very soon afterwards noticed improvement. I was able to read steadily for quite a time, which had been impossible before. In a comparatively short time I was freed from the eye trouble.
Since then I am endeavoring to understand this Science better through the reading of the Christian Science literature and through right thinking, and to apply what has been learned in my daily life. When I realized that God is Love only, and never the originator of evil, it seemed as though I had been freed from a burden. With my whole heart I thank Him for all good.
