It is for the spiritual uplift and moral regeneration that I am most grateful to Christian Science. When I began to study Christian Science I was a tobacco fiend and was drinking intoxicating liquors to excess. I was suffering from an enlarged heart, nervous prostration, and tubercular disease. The doctors had given me only about one year to live. I was considered an infidel, because I did not believe there was a God who sent sickness, poverty, and other troubles upon His people, and great was my rejoicing when I was directed to a Christian Science practitioner, who lovingly told me of a God who is Love and who delivers those who believe in Him, from disease and poverty. I could not afford to buy "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." therefore I thank God for our Leader's wisdom in establishing a free reading room and making it possible for those who are under a sense of limitation to borrow this wonderful book. I borrowed it and read it and reread it, for I was hungering after this God who is Love. I have been healed of the diseases mentioned as well as the bad habits and many discordant conditions which have come up in my experience in the past five years.

I would like to verify my husband's statement regarding his healings in Christian Science. The doctor told me that my husband's lungs were affected and he could not live another year. I would also like to express my gratitude for the many, many ways in which Christian Science has helped and is helping me.
