I am most grateful for Christian Science and for all the blessings which it has brought me. Some four years ago, I came to a place in my experience where there seemed to be no rest or peace for me. I had been studying Christian Science for some years, and had been helped physically and morally. At this time, however, I was so anxious to care well for my children that I felt overwhelmed with responsibility. This made me very irritable, and the conditions in our home were far from harmonious. I was asked by a Scientist to come and have a talk. I went; and I can never be grateful enough for the healing that began then. Through this dear Scientist's clear understanding of God and His idea, it seemed as though a door had been opened, and my being was flooded with a glorious light,—the light of spiritual understanding. The "peace of God, which passeth all understanding," comes with this light; and no sense of persons or personal possession can take it away.
A few months ago, my little girl awoke one morning feeling very ill, and the conditions seemed to become more serious. While trying to help her, I realized that I was harboring fear; that I was accepting the belief that God's child could be material and could be separated from his divine Principle, Love. I at once substituted for this mortal reasoning the truth that life is in divine Mind, is "hid with Christ in God." The light then shone unobstructedly; and the child was healed. This experience has been of the greatest help to me, for it has shown me that as we gain spiritual understanding we reach that humility which enables us to trust our all to God.
I am more grateful than words can say that I have learned of God as divine Principle, Mind, Love, and have gained a practical understanding of our Master's life. These blessings have been attained through the study of the Bible, illumined by the writings of our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy.—Edinburgh, Scotland.
